After launching or starting Toad and trying to connect to an Oracle database, I get the following error. After clicking on the OK button, the errorappears again. This error may have started happening after I uninstalled / resintalled my Microsoft .Net Framework 3.0 and/or 3.5.
System.InvalidCastException
Unable to cast object of type Quest.Toad.Oracle.DBMS.DBMSOutputSettings to type Quest.Toad.Oracle.OracleSettings.

I have tried uninstallingand reinstalling my Toad, but with no success in resolving the error.
Corruption in settings files. Microsoft .Net Framework 3.0 or 3.5 was uninstalled / resintalled.
RESOLUTION 1:
1) Fully exit Toad for Data Analysts (TDA)
2) Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Data Analysts 2.x\ModuleSettings (for XP) –OR- C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Data Analysts 2.x\ModuleSettings (for Vista or Win 7)
3) Rename DBMSOutput.xml to DBMSOutput.xml_OLD
4) Rename Oracle.xml to Oracle.xml_OLD
5) Start TDA and re-test the issue
RESOLUTION 2:
Note: This will reset your TDA settings to factory defaults.
1) Fully exit Toad for Data Analysts (TDA)
2) Go to C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Quest Software (for XP) –OR-
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software (for Vista or Win 7)
3) Rename the "Toad for Data Analyst 2.x" folder to "Toad for Data Analyst 2.x_OLD"
4) Start TDA and re-test the issue
NOTE: Please try to avoid any force closure of TDA. Please also avoid leaving TDA running overnight as Windows Updates and Database Maintenance usually occurs at night. These will lessen TDA files being corrupted.
