Imported more than the recommended number of tables (50) into the ER Diagram and Toad hung. Had to kill Toad. When relaunched Toad it just hung at the splash screen.
Corrupted settings files
Rename the Toad application data folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Quest Software\Toad for Data Analysts X.x* (XP)
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Toad for Data Analysts X.x* (Vista/Win 7)
to Toad for Data Analysts X.x.bak
Relaunch Toad.
* X.x is the version number e.g. 2.7
To retain your connections, after relaunching Toad, close it and copy the connections.xml file from the renamed folder to the new Toad for Data Analysts X.x folder. Launch Toad and the connections should be recovered.
