Would like to use Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2017 instead of 2015. Will it work? Would like to use the newer version.
Currently getting the error:
"Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 is required by Toad. If your OS is 32-bit, install vc_redist.x86.exe. If your OS is 64-bit, install both vc_redist.x86.exe and vc_redist.x64.exe."
We’re a little reluctant to install Visual Studio 2015 since we’re using Visual Studio 2017 for SSIS.

Resolution
The embedded hub is compiled to work with the VC++ 2105 DLLs only, however there is an update to the Toad installer where it will not install VC++2015 DLLs if 2017 is already installed. So you can use 2017 instead of 2015. However to ensure that the components are installed, please run the components only installers (both the x86 and the x64 if you have a 64-bit Windows).
