Description

Toad Data Modeler (TDM) startup is slow. From clicking the desktop icon, it takes 2-4 minutes to startup. Most of time the splash screen shows "Application Initialization".
Cause

Environmental issue
Resolution

RESOLUTION 1:
Please right-click the desktop icon and choose 'Run as Administrator'

RESOLUTION 2:
This can be related to the roaming profile, if the data folder is located in the network, rather than the local machine.
Please update all the paths in the options of TDM to a folder on the local machine, and restart TDM.
