Is it possible to create a partial foreign key relationship in Toad Data Modeler 3?
'Table A' has two attributes in the primary key (id, country)
'Table B' would enforce referential integrity, but only on the one field (id).
How can you select attributes which are inherited from the parent table?
1. Create an alternate key in Table A | Keys tab. Edit the key.
2. In the Alternate Key Properties dialog | Attributes tab, select the id column. Confirm.
3. Edit the relationship.
4. In the Relationship Properties dialog | Foreign Keys tab | Parent Key box, select the alternate key.
More details can be found in the Help file | Index tab, type 'Alternate keys' and 'Linking Method' to see the topics.
