Channel Startup Error Rule

Purpose

This rule monitors the number of short time-out activation attempts that are available for each sender channel. This number typically decreases when the queue manager has reached the maximum allowed number of active channels. When a channel exhausts its number of short retries, the rule generates alarms which in most cases indicates that the queue manager has too many active channels.

Conditions	State
The channel is retrying to start up and has no short retries left.	Warning

Channel Stopped Rule

Purpose

This rule checks if a sender channel is stopped or in unknown state, and generates alarms when either of these conditions are met.

Channel Transmission Problem Rule

Purpose

This rule checks if messages are moving through the transmission queue.

Conditions	State
The transmission queue is not empty, but its channel is not running. No messages will be removed from the queue.	Warning

Channel TransmissionQ Error Rule

Purpose

This rule checks if messages are moving through the transmission queue.

Scope

Rule Definition
Conditions	State
The transmission queue is not empty and its channel is running, but no messages are being removed.	Warning
