Using Foglight for IBM WebSphere MQ Server Reference
Views Rules Data

SPX Listener Details View

In the Listeners Tab View, select an SPX listener entry in the table.
Socket. The SPX socket number in hexadecimal notation.
Back Log. The number of outstanding requests for the SPX listener.

TCP Listener Details View

In the Listeners Tab View, select a TCP listener entry in the table.
IP Address. The IP address used by the listener, as defined on the monitored system.
Port. The port number used by the listener.
Back Log. The number of outstanding requests for the TCP listener.

MQ Cluster Overview Tab

On the navigation panel, under Homes, click MQ Cluster. If it is not already selected, click the Overview tab.
Queue Manager Name. Contains the name of the queue manager.
Alarms. The numbers of fatal, critical, and warning alarms for this queue manager. Hovering over a severity column opens a dwell containing a list of the alarms of that severity, raised against this queue manager. For more information about alarms, see the Foglight User Guide.
Host Name. The name of the computer that is hosting the queue manager. If your monitoring environment includes the Cartridge for Infrastructure, you can click the host name to drill down to the host health details. Hovering over this field shows a dwell listing the Health, Alarms, CPU, Memory, Disk, and Network metrics for this host. This allows you to quickly determine if the alarm is related to the OS, or another source on the host.
Repository Type. The type of repository: full or partial. For definitions and setup information, see the IBM WebSphere MQ Server documentation.
Status. The running state of the queue manager. Click an entry to open a dwell with a graph view, representing the queue manager’s availability over time. Zero ‘0’ indicates that the queue manager is unavailable, and one ‘1’ indicates that the queue manager is available.
Drill down on any Queue Manager Name to open the MQ Queue Manager dashboard. For more information, see Monitoring Queue Managers.
Drill down on any Alarms field to open the Outstanding Alarms dialog box, containing a list of outstanding alarms associated with this queue manager. This allows you to browse through the alarms, which are sorted according to severity.
Drill down on any Host Name to open the Host Monitor dashboard. This dashboard provides a real-time overview of how a host is functioning. For more information about this dashboard, see the Foglight User Guide.
Infrastructure Overall Message Rate Graph. The enqueue and dequeue rates of messages for the selected cluster infrastructure, plotted over time.
Application Overall Message Rate Graph. The enqueue and dequeue rates of messages for the selected cluster application (user-created), plotted over time.
Overall Queue Depth. The queue depth for both application and infrastructure objects, plotted over time.
Dead Letter Queue Depth Graph. The depth of the dead letter (undeliverable message) queue; either zero or one, where one indicates the presence of dead letters in the queue, plotted over time.
Connection Count Graph. The number of connections to the queue manager, plotted over time.
Alarms Under ClusterName. This table lists the Long Name, Health, Alarms, and Health History for queue managers, grouped into clusters.
In the Alarms Under ClusterName table:
Drill down on any Long Name to open a dwell with detailed views for the selected object instance, links to those views, and any additional information about the selected object instance. For example, clicking an MQQueueManager object opens a dwell containing a link that drills down to the Queues Tab View, the event status for the queue manager, and a graph view showing the depths of the dead letter queue and connection count for the selected queue manager.
Drill down on the Health icon to open a dwell with alarm source information and links to more details.
Drill down on any Alarm value to open the Outstanding Alarms dialog box.
Drill down on the Health History to open a popup that allows you to examine the health status over time.

MQ Server Application View
