View / modify the settings for the connection
To open the Monitoring page of the Connection Properties Dialog
Note: The options shown on the Monitoring page are dependant on connection type. Some options may not be available for all connection types.
Option Description Monitor this server By default, this option is selected (meaning the selected server is being monitored by Spotlight).
To stop monitoring a server, clear this option.
Note: When this option is cleared no new data is collected and therefore no alarms are raised. Existing data in the playback database and Spotlight Statistics Repository is preserved.
Alarms Configure the alarm settings. See "Alarms Dialog" (page 1) for more information. Schedules Customize how often data is collected. See "Configure Scheduling" (page 1) for more information.
Error Log Entries Configure Spotlight to scan the error logs for specified error conditions. See "Configure Error Log Entries Dialog" (page 1) for more information.
SQL Server Response Time
Enter a representative SQL statement to measure SQL Server response time for the current connection. The response time itself can be viewed in the SQL Summary page in the SQL Activity drilldown and on the Spotlight home page. SQL Analysis Filters Specify the method and time frame for the collection of SQL Analysis data. Use filters to determine what SQL Analysis data is retrieved from the SQL Server instance. See "SQL Analysis Dialog" (page 1) for more information.
Monitored Files Configure Spotlight to track the growth of specified files. See "Monitored Files" (page 1) for more information.
