I am trying to start an agent on an external server that is in a DMZ (behind a firewall). I have had the networking team open up ports 1099, 8083 and 8009 bi-directionally between the server where the STAT central agent resides (statprod) and where the local agent resides on the server behind the DMZ (estst01). When I start up the STAT agent, it appears to connect and start but then the agent appears to go down due to a connection timeout .
Check to see if these ports are open if you are using default port:
1098, 1099, 8089, 8090, 8092, 8093
