Delete flag of source project are not synchronized. They have the 'copy' Action instead of the 'Delete' Action flag.According to Development, the project sync does not update the flags on the archive set.The feeling is that if you have already set the flags because you use the Stat project or a username project to do the migration, you might not want Stat to automatically override the flags you have already set.If you use the PS project to do the migration, the flags will be read from the project definition and will be displayed on the migration screen when you choose the Project in Archive set option. -
Cause
The problem with the older method is that the flags on the objects tab, while synced from the environment, might not match the definition in the archive set. And since the flags on the objects tab are only used in Stat/User Name projects, they might be misleading as to what is in the archive set definition.Problem: project sync wizard used to update those flags on the object tab.If the user then performed a mass migration, the flags where already set to what they needed to be.With 5.7.0 user would have to set those flags manually on archive set.New ability to copy archive set to new archive set, which includes copying the flags may or may not be of use.Dev are working on a design to allow for the archive set to be modified to match the flags for the project in the archive set. -
Resolution
Development Investigation and Implementation.Project Read1. add objects to CSR based on App Designer Project.2. Include AD Project or Do not include AD Project is user choice3. Mark project as "Managed Project" on CSR is user choiceArchive set1. When archive set created, automatically set the copy/delete/upgrade flags for that archive set based on the managed project from the Project Read Wizard.Objects not in Managed Project must have flags set manually.2. Flags always come from Dev which is source of Managed Project3. If archive set is copied, flags are copied as well (already exists)Project Sync1. Add objects to Object List as before2. Delete objects from Object list/archive set as before (user is prompted whether or not to delete object from CSR)3. Prompt user with list of archive sets that could have flags modified based on the Managed Project (on the dev db)and ask which archive set should be modified. Update the copy/delete/upgrade flags on those archive sets. (for the objects in the managed project only)Said that, Development have started work on this for the 5.7.1HF-d which will be expect release in November.
