ORA-12505: TNS: listener could not resolve SID given in connect descriptor
Description

I can log into STATTST on my computer, but a user using my login cannot get into STATTST. The user gets an error message of ORA-12505: TNS: listener could not resolve SID given in connect descriptor
I checked his tnsname, and it looks good, so we don't know what the problem is.
Resolution

1. Bring up command prompt and type in tnsping enter_stat_db to see if it's return stat db information.
2. Go through Oracle Net Configuration Assistant and reconfigure stat db. Do test connect the db from the Net Configuration Assistant.
