User has used Quest SQL Optimizer for DB2 to generate indexes for a SQL statement. It took a long time and never get a result. However, she could run rewrite SQL option just 1 minute to complete. Cost of this SQL is 5,195,054 for a table contains 309 million rows.
It read all rows for a sample instead of reading catalog for statistics.
