Get "The Parser did not identify the text as a valid SQL statement" error showing plan or rewriting SQL
Description

When showing the plan or rewriting SQL for a query that contains a comment in the SQL body, the following error is received.

"The Parser did not identify the text as a valid SQL statement"
Here is an example of SQL that gets the error:
SELECT T.TABSCHEMA, T.TABNAME, T.CREATE_TIME, T.ALTER_TIME, I.INDNAME, I.COLNAMES, I.CREATE_TIME
FROM SYSCAT.TABLES T
INNER JOIN SYSCAT.INDEXES I
-- COMMENT
ON (T.TABSCHEMA, T.TABNAME) = (I.TABSCHEMA, I.TABNAME)
WHERE T.TABSCHEMA = 'SYSIBM'
AND T.TABNAME = 'SYSTABLES'
WITH UR
Resolution

WORKAROUND:
Remove the comment from the SQL.

This issue is fixed in SQL Optimizer for DB2 LUW. This version can be downloaded from the downloads section of our website, which you can access by clicking here.
