SQL Navigator cannot process the special character such as !, @, %, [, ], and so on.When I am prompted to change mypassword at login, I cannot enter some of the special characters. SQL Navigator is not letting me type these special characters at all.
When logging with user id that have special character please be sure to check the following:
1. You will need to be using an oracle 9i client or higher. And use a full Oracle client.
2. Have double quotation around your user id: "ABCDA[obi_dwh] "
Note, the double quotes won't be taken as part of the password. It will be recognized as delimiters. Subsequent connections directly in the Connection window or outside of Navigator will not need the double quotes to log in.
Example: When prompted for new password, enter in...
"abC[123]!@#$%^&*"
(with the double quotes)
SQL Navigator will accept this. When logging into the DB later, the password can be used without double quotes (i.e. abC[123]!@#$%^&*). This will also make the password case sensitive.
