Code Search is not able to search partial object name

I was using the Code Search function in the SQL Nav editor, and was having some frustrations. Some searches seemed to work, and others did not. A particular Oracle package had the 3 lines listed below, which I was searching for among a list of packages.

I set up the search for the correct schema, and partial object name common to all the packages I wanted to search, and specified the following search words, with their result:

expir > no hits
expired > no hits
expired_date > got a hit !
