Enhancement request to allow for side-by-side viewing of two or more different select statements connected to the same session.
By allowing multiple SQL Editor windows to be connected to the same session. This includes the outputs of each select statement
to appear side-by-side on each SQL Editor Window. The Split/Compare option only displays one output at a time.
Only one Code editor window is allowed per session and the tabs from the editor cannot be separated.
WORKAROUND 1:
To see multiple editor windows, you need to open multiple session/connections to your schema/database. One connection will have one session and one Code Editor window (with multiple tabs). If you open a new connection, to the same database, a new Code Editor will open and you can run the same queries and compare. The difference is that they are running on different sessions to the database.
WORKAROUND 2:
Use the Split/Compare option to split the Editor's script window into two panels that allows you to view two scripts side by side. You can right click and choose Split/Compare, select the layout and select a second source. Or you can type directly into the second panel.
STATUS:
Issue fixed in version 6.2. The latest version of SQL Navigator for Oracle can be downloaded here
