Resolution
The Deadlock trace is light weight and the footprint would only be noticeable if a lot of deadlock is occurring.

Additional Information
The SQL Analysis and Deadlock trace are the only traces Spotlight runs. Deadlock query is not intense but the SQL Analysis is an intense query. SQL Analysis (which is not enabled by default) is like an alternate interface to a Profiler trace and it uses the Profiler to get data. SQL Analysis should be used on a need basis (just like Profiler), rather than letting it run continuously. If it's configured to run continuously, it should be disabled.
