When you click on SQL Activity | Sessions in Spotlight for SQL Server Enterprise, there are DB Names missing from sessions with Windows accounts.
There is a DB Name for the running/active sessions, but when it returns to a sleeping state, the DB Name disappears.
However, all the SA system processes, even while in a sleeping state, continue to show the DB Name for master.
It is by design.
The only place database info is available is from: select * from sys.dm_exec_requests, which only shows current executing requests.
The sys.dm_exec_sessions do not have database info, but that is due to the way Microsoft has split the information into two views from SQL Server 2005. Spotlight is leveraging these views.
