Receiving the following popup alarm message in the Spotlight Diagnostic Server Email Service:
Email error: Sending email failed: The Email server or a proxy or an anti-virus program returned an untrusted certificate. To fix this problem you need to obtain this certificate and import it into the Diagnostic Server. See the Help for details. Note: The Diagnostic Server has its own store of trusted certificates and does not use the OS trusted certificates store.
SOLUTION 1:
1. Get a copy of the certificate by exporting the certificate from the Email server or proxy or anti-virus.
NOTE: Click here for instructions on how to export the certificate from Exchange Server. For other email servers or how to export the certificates from your organization's proxy or anit-virus, please contact your organization's system administrator or 3rd party vendor's support.
2. Open the Command line (Run as Admin) and import the certificate using the following command to run the "ImportCertificate.bat" file within the Diagnostic Server:
"{DS install dir}\Agent\bin\ImportCertificate.bat" "{certificate file location and name}"

3. Restart the Spotlight Diagnostic Server Service.
SOLUTION 2:
Disable TLS for email (not recommended).
1. Go to default folder:
*{DS install dir}\Agent\conf\
2. Locate the file "DiagnosticServer.properties" and add the following parameter in a new line at the bottom of the file.
com.quest.adk.email.tls=false
3. Restart the Spotlight Diagnostic Server Service.
