Description

Tried to upgrade but the upgrade crashed with error : "Spotlight has encountered a problem and needs to close".
"Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version=2.0.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=7cec8"
Resolution

RESOLUTION 1:
This requires a Windows hotfix. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2468871
It is also listed in the release notes for 10.5 under Known Issues->Connections-> the first item

RESOLUTION 2:
Open Spotlight with alleviated permissions, right-click on Spotlight icon and select 'Run As Administrator'
