a Windows Connection for host ... is missing after upgrade from 10.0 to 10.5 -
Description
After upgrading to 10.5, the clustered instances that use "Cluster (monitor active node)" don't seem to recognize that the nodes are in the Windows monitoring list and create this alert "Missing Windows Host" on inactive nodes that are not in Spotlight. -
Resolution
workaround:
Recreate the server names as non fully qualified. The alarm works by looking at all nodes in the cluster, that is the Windows cluster, and assumes they all have SQL Server instances on them.
This is going to be fixed in a future release (most likely in version 11.0)
