How to set up Spotlight alarms when the SQL Server Agent of a SQL Server instance stops running?
To set up SQL Server Agent service alarm right click on your sql server connection go to properties - Alarm.
1. In alarm window - "Note: choose Default settings if you like to set up alarm for all connections."
2. Select "SQL Agent - Status" then check Override the default check box - Then check "Send an email ..." check box - Enter your email.
And change "when the severity is Low or greater..."
3. You can test out alarm by stop your sql server Agent service on the test machine.
