The Windows Secondary Connection Failure alarm is throwing the message:
Connection 'Windows Registry Channel' failed to connect: The Windows registry query has timed out.
The call made to the registry involves the AdvancedPerformanceOptions collection which is done in the back end and it brings back processor scheduling and memory usage. This is a WMI call to the class StdRegProv.
The timed out message implies that Spotlight is prevent from completing the WMI call. When Windows have enough resources, it will eventually let the call complete.
In re-examining the AdvancedPerformanceOptions collection, the data for processor scheduling and memory usage are not displayed or used in anyway. This collection is being considered for removal from Spotlight.
STATUS: Waiting for fix in a future release of Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise
