User error in setting up the initial connection from Spotlight to the Sybase instance
Please try the following steps to get started with Spotlight on Sybase ASE:
1. Launch Spotlight on Sybase ASE
2. From the Spotlight menu bar, click "File | Connect"
3. When the Spotlight Connection Manager opens, find and click on Spotlight on Sybase ASE in the Connections pane to the left
4. With Spotlight on Sybase ASE selected in the Connections pane, click on the New Connection icon in the Spotlight on Sybase ASE Connections pane to the right.
5. Provide a new connection name and click OK to create the connection profile
6. When the New Connections dialog opens, select the Details tab and enter the correct target Sybase instance information
Note: it is recommended to select <New Database> for the Spotlight Database field. This will allow Spotlight to create a new work database on the instance to store data needed for its internal processing (see "Creating a new work database" in the Help file for more information).
7. After creating the connection profile, click on connect
