Description
When connected through the RAC instance name, Spotlight on RAC reports the error below on one of the RAC nodes:
"ORA-03113: end of file on communication channel while attempting to refresh table ipAddress".

Cause
Possible causes:
1. Connection Descriptor is incorrectly configured.
2. This error message is a secondary error message due to a bug known to affect Oracle Database Server 10.2.0.1 and Oracle Database Server 10.2.0.2.

Resolution
WORKAROUND 1:
Use SQL*Plus or any 3rd party tool to verify connectivity between the machine which runs Spotlight and this RAC node.
WORKAROUND 2:
Provide alert<SID>.log to Oracle Technical Support for investigation.
