Why do the installation script drop SYS.EXECUTE_IMMEDIATE and SYS.BUILD_XVIEW when Oracle 11gR2 do not contain them?
Resolution
Spotlight creates some temporary objects in the SYS schema which are then dropped at the end of the user wizard. Spotlight doesn't drop any other objects from the SYS schema.
For SYS.EXECUTE_IMMEDIATE and SYS.BUILD_XVIEW the reason for them being in the script is a historical one and were not removed for later versions of Oracle. They are not a part of Oracle post 11gR2 and they could be removed from the script without affecting the user creation. You can also replace the existing install_post11gR2.sql with the attached corrected script.
