SOLUTION 1:
A. Grant DCOM permission to the user to access WMI remotely
1. Go to Run | type Dcomcnfg.
2. Expand Component Service | Computers.
3. Right-click My Computer | properties and select the COM Security Tab.
4. Click on "Edit Limits" under launch and activation permissions box.
5. Add the "Everyone" user group and give the "Remote Activation" permission OR add the user desired to give permission to and grant the "Remote Activation" permission.
B. Grant permission for the user to the WMI namespace
1. Go to Run | type WMImgmt.msc.
2. Right-click WMI Control (Local) | Properties, click the Security tab, click on Root, and click the Security button.
3. Add the "Everyone" user group and give the "Remote Enable" permission OR add the user desired to give permission to and grant the "Remote Enable" permission.
C. Run Quick Config
1. Open the Command Line Prompt with (Run as Admin) option.
2. Type winrm quickconfig
The following messages will appear:
WinRM service is already running on this machine.
WinRM is already set up for remote management on this computer.
D. Disable UAC remote restrictions in Registry
1. Go to Run | type regedit.
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
3. Locate key "LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy".
(If the key does not exist, perform the steps below.)
a. At the top of the menu, go to Edit | New | DWORD (32-bit) Value.
b. Type LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy and press Enter.
c. Double-click the new key and put a 1 for the Value data field and click OK.
4. Double-click the key and put a 1 for the Value data field and click OK.
SOLUTION 2:
A domain admin account is required to run the "Spotlight Diagnostic Server on Oracle" service for Windows and the same user running the service should be part of the Administrators group on both the Spotlight host and the monitored server host.
