When starting the Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server windows service, it starts up and then immediately stops. This prevents you from being able to log into Spotlight Cloud DS app, with the error "Sorry, we cannot sign you in."
The following error message is shown in the Windows Event Log:
Stopping Cloud Diagnostic Server. catastrophic error occurred failed to initialise Cloud Diagnostic Server runtime environment : Failed to start Cloud Diagnostic Server : Error writing file .\conf\MONITORED_ENTITY\_agent.xml : .\conf\MONITORED_ENTITY\_agent.xml (Access is denied) : .\conf\MONITORED_ENTITY\_agent.xml (Access is denied) : Error writing file .\conf\MONITORED_ENTITY\_agent.xml : .\conf\MONITORED_ENTITY\_agent.xml (Access is denied) : .\conf\MONITORED_ENTITY\_agent.xml (Access is denied)
Ensure that the Spotlight Cloud Diagnostic Server Windows service owner account has 'Full Control' (Read/Write) permissions the on folder "C:\Program Files\Quest Software", or the folder where the Cloud Diagnostic Server is installed.
