When connecting to an instance using Space Manager client user interface, the following error is displayed:
Unable to connect to <instance>.
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
Tnsping and SQLPlus are working fine.
Space Manager client interface is installed on a 64-bit machine under "C:\Program Files (x86)\..." and is hitting an Oracle bug Doc ID: 334528.1 which introduces problems in connectivity when parenthesis are used in the installation directory.
Ensure that both the Space Manager client interface and Oracle 32-bit client are installed on directory names without parenthesis (e.g. "C:\Program Files \...").
