If the out of sync only happened on a few rows, and if one wanted to do the preliminary investigation of the problem, it is easier if one can locate the source and target rows quickly and compare the column values.
The earlier version of Shareplex had the .sql file (located in /vardir/log directory which is used to generate the compare report) contained only target rowids which required one to first identify the primary or unique key to be able to locate the correct source row. This has changed in the current version 5.3 of Shareplex as the following output of .sql file shows:
"targetserver_owner-tablename-PID.sql"
/*
* Compare Report
*
* Session ID : PID
* Schema : owner
* Table : tablename
* Repair : Off
* Target Route: targetserver@SID
* Key Compare : Off
* Select Hint :
* Log File : /opt/oracle/shareplex/w208p_2100/log/targetserver_owner-tablename-PID.sql
* Date : Mon Jul 16 21:02:14 2007
*
*/
/* source rowid='AAGaHaAAHAAAEmoAAc' */update "owner"."tablename" set "MODIFIED_DATETIME" = to_date('0627 2007163419','MMDDSYYYYHH24MISS'),"SESSION_SEQ_ID" = '2010562',"RESULTS_PER_PAGE" = '10',"CREATED_DATETIME" = to_date('0627 2007163419','MMDDSYYYYHH24MISS'),"CREATED_BY" = 'TUCWA523',"DEPOSIT_DATE_TO" = NULL,"DEPOSIT_DATE_FROM" = to_date('0501-5525000000','MMDDSYYYYHH24MISS'),"ITEM_PAYMENT_AMOUNT_TO" = '0',"ITEM_PAYMENT_AMOUNT_FROM" = '0',"TOTAL_PAYMENT_AMOUNT_TO" = '0',"TOTAL_PAYMENT_AMOUNT_FROM" = '0',"CHECK_NUMBER_TO" = NULL,"CHECK_NUMBER_FROM" = NULL,"BATCH_NUM_FROM" = '5s1936',"BATCH_NUM_TO" = NULL,"MATCHING_ROWS" = '0',"CHECK_RTN_TO" = NULL,"CHECK_RTN_FROM" = NULL,"CHECK_DDA_TO" = NULL,"CHECK_DDA_FROM" = NULL,"SEARCH_OVERFLOW_FLAG" = 'N',"TRANSACTION_TYPE" = '0'
where rowid = 'AAAK5wAAHAAAR2sAAQ';
/*
As one can see, the above report makes it easier to get the source and target row values as both source and target rowids are specified. For example, based on the above file, the source rowid is AAGaHaAAHAAAEmoAAc and the target rowid is AAAK5wAAHAAAR2sAAQ.
