The compare or repair results in message “Table is not in replication”

When compare or repair is run using wildcards where source and target database is same, it states that the (target) table is not in replication. For example, if scott.tiger1 is replicating to scott.tiger2 within the same database, and the following message is received when a compare (or repair) is run:

sp_ctrl>compare scott.%tiger%

  Table "scott"."tiger2" is not in replication

 Compare simply states that the table qualified under wildcard is not a source table.

When using wildcards in compare where source and target databases are one in the same, some of the target tables may also qualify as a source table under the wildcard syntax. Essentially the compare is telling us that such target table is not found to be in replication (as a source table). This should not be interpreted to mean that the table "scott"."tiger2" is not in replication, but rather, the aforesaid table is not PARTICIPATING in replication as a source table.
