Source connecting from actual box, instead of VIP, after commenting line of VIP on /etc/hosts file:
========
Event_log:
12/18/06 06:06 Notice: sp_cnc(pdb) (connecting from <host>-<host>.<company>.com) Oracle env - arpm1v:/apps/opt/oracle/product/8.1.7
event_log (30/60)
12/19/06 03:48 Notice: sp_cnc(pdb) (connecting from <host>-<host>.<company>.com) Oracle env - arpm1v:/apps/opt/oracle/product/8.1.7
=====
Source queues showed connecting to proper target and no new reader or queues created. Target queues
showed no new post queues from xxx.xxx.xxx.xx. Still all post queues coming from destination on VIP,
xxx.xxx.xxx.xx.
Commented line of VIP in /etc/hosts:
#xxx.xxx.xxx.xx <host>-<host>.<company>.com <alias>
RESOLUTION:
1) Shutdown Shareplex
2) Uncommented VIP line, previously commented.
For example:
#xxx.xxx.xxx.xx <host>-<host>.<company>.com <alias>
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If change was made when SharePlex running, change did not take effect and not queues picking up from actual box IP would be created. Otherwise, new queues from actual box IP would be created. Those newly created queues would have to be deleted.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
CTwas getting about 1000 system time waits, on Source system. Noticed a typo in the host name resolving to the VIP in the network host table.
Example:
Should have been "x" but was "y".
Tried resolving the issue by
commening the VIP line on the /etc/hosts file
