What do the messages “The number of threads has been reduced to 1” in compare log signify:
desvr 2014-04-28 14:22:49.359489 19838 1 The number of threads has been reduced to 1 by the validation process.
desvr 2014-04-28 14:22:49.359541 19838 1 Note: reset thread count to 1
desvr 2014-04-28 14:22:49.359548 19838 1 Note: based on number of available config entries
The value for the ‘threads’ variable in compare has been reduced to 1 due to only 1 table present in the compare command or config file used in compare.
The ‘threads’ option in compare or the user configurable compare parameter SP_DEQ_THREADS controls the # of processing threads used by the compare command on the source. However, if only one table is compared either by using the simple compare command or by using “compare using” command which operates on a config file containing only one table, then the value for ‘threads’ variable will be reset to 1 despite a higher value specified via the compare command option or via the parameter SP_DEQ_THREADS.
