When running the Verify Settings in the Forest Recovery Console, some remote DCs will have the error:
"unknown error: failed to connect to timeout has expired"
You can edit the timeout settings in the file FRConsoleSettings.xml and increase the value of WMIConnectionTimeout parameter.
You need to start RMAD FE console and FRConsoleSettings.xml will be created in RMADFE installation folder (by default C:\Program Files\Quest\Recovery Manager for Active Directory Forest Edition).
Open FRConsoleSettings.xml and increase value of the following
WMIConnectionTimeout defaultValue="10">10
Try specifying 300 up to 600 seconds.
This should allow all Verify Settings to complete.
Note: If the xml value is not in the file add the following to end of the file and save it:
WMIConnectionTimeout defaultValue="300">300
