Targeted SYSVOL Recovery Method using the repair wizard
Description
For proper recovery of SYSVOL, RMAD DRE allows it to be done via the Forest Recovery Console with SYSVOL recovery placed under the project recovery settings. While you can choose to perform only the recovery on selected domain controller such as the PDC, the rest of the domain controllers are rebooted in order mark the SYSVOL to be overridden by the primary SYSVOL hosted by the PDC that is being recovered.
Performing a targeted restore of SYSVOL to a DC using RMAD Repair Wizard (typically the PDC which would be designated as the primary SYSVOL auth sync source). This minimizes downtime in the domain since only the affected DC is targeted for the restore. And if there are redundant DCs in the environment they can remain online albeit (the impact would be contained to SYSVOL related issues) until the procedure to recover the auth copy of SYSVOL is done.
