How to run Verify Settings for Restore to Clean OS without setting the Target Computer

When you select the "Restore Active Directory on Clean OS" Recovery Method, the IP Address for the Target Computer (the machine you want to restore to) has to be set before you can run Verify Settings. In an environment with many DCs set to this Recovery Method, it is not reasonable to have as many new servers created just to be able to provide the IP Address so that Verify Settings can be run. Is there another way to successfully run Verify Settings without having to have the Target Computer information set?

WORKAROUND:

The attached script will resolve the hostname of the DCs to IP Address and then populate that IP Address in the Target Computer field so that Verify Settings can be run successfully. To use the script:

1. Create the FR Project
2. Save the Project
3. Download the attached zip file and extract it on the FR Console server
4. Edit the script changing the path to match that of your FR Project file and the Password with the password for the project
5. Run the script
6. Reopen the FR project in the FR console
7. Verify the IP Address for the DCs has been set for the Target Computer for any DC whose Recovery Method is set to "Restore Active Directory on Clean OS"
8. Run Verify Settings
9. Click Skip and Continue when the "Check if computer is not a domain controller" step fails

An Enhancement Request has been submitted to be considered in a future release of Recovery Manager for Active Directory Disaster Recovery Edition (RMADFE-2933 - Support Verify for "Restore to Clean OS" on live DCs - show warning when live DC is contacted)
