The Desktop Update Agent does not have a silent operation mode. This is by design.
As the agent runs, it may need to stop and/or start any or all of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, or OneDrive for Business. The user is required to enter their target credentials to complete the migration process. This cannot be automated for security reasons, only the Microsoft applications themselves may collect and store the required credentials. As such, the user is expected to choose Start to begin the process and to choose Next to move on to each subsequent step.
Let's imagine we remove the next button and the user starts to switch Outlook; this same user also continues their work in another application during the Outlook switch process. Then somehow, there is another popup window asking for credentials (coming from DUA) because it switched to the next step. This can become very confusing for the user and therefore, it is best for the user to click next and recognize that the authentication window is related to this operation.
