Note 1: all dirsync agents per environment must use the same passphrase as well as in all password plugins on DCs, that are listed for that environment, Domain Controllers
Note 2: all Domain Controllers in the DC list in environment's Settings should use the same password sync method. There should be no mix and match, where some DCs are checked for the modern password sync and some are not. Mixing password sync methods will cause password sync inconsistencies.
Note 3: if legacy password sync was used previously, please make sure to delete c:\windows\BTpass folder on all DCs and verify that it's not getting recreated. It's recommended to stop dirsync agents' service when doing so.
Note 4: if passwords are only synced by running a workflow, but not by real-time monitoring, please make sure to uninstall Crowdstrike from the dirsync agent machine, and if that didn't help, then from DC as well

Documentation defect 62325 was created to address the incorrect wording in the Modern Password Sync Quick Start Guide. At the moment, it mentions that at least one DC should be marked as "modern" while in fact all DCs in the DC list must be marked with it.
