Description
Requirement: You have customized scripts/commands you want to add to the migration process.
Here we will be using the Entra ID machine Cutover process as the example. -
Cause
You need to add your customized scripts/commands to the migration process as a custom Action/Task. -
Resolution
Creating a Custom Action in ODM AD
Step 1) Create your custom Action- Go to your ODM Active Directory module.
- Open the hamburger menu on the left and click on Configurations
- Under Action on the right side, click Show System
- On page 2, select the Microsoft Entra ID Cutover option and then click Copy:
- This will create a new copy of that task called Microsoft Entra ID Cutover (copy).
- Select that and click Edit to configure your new Action as per below:
Step 2) Create a new Task
Configure the new Task as per below:
Click Next. Configure the next section and add your script commands into the top right part.
Click Save.
3) Assign that task to your custom Action
Select your new Task and assign it to the copy of the Entra Cutover action:
4) Apply the new custom Action
- Open the hamburger menu on the left and choose Devices and Servers.
- Choose your devices and select your custom Action to Apply:
