How to use the Map from File option in an ODM Teams or M365 Groups migration project to rename a Team or Group (4343926)

The steps for renaming Teams with a mapping file are:

1.) Discover Teams
2.) After discovery, look at the Target Team Name on the Teams tab. If the Target Team Name is correct, then proceed to Provision, then Migrate
3.) If you would like to alter the Target Team Name, such as to just change the name, or to merge it with an existing Team in the target that has a different name, then this is where you can use a mapping file
4.) In order to help generate the mapping file, select all Teams or just those you wish to rename and select More Actions | Export
5.) Unzip and edit the exported CSV file.
6.) Change the values as desired. Options include:

• Target Team Name (or Target Group Name)
• Target SharePoint site URL
• Target MailNickname

7.) Save your changes to the CSV file
8.) Back in the ODM Portal, select More Actions | Map from File and select the CSV file you edited
9.) Once the Map from File task is complete, confirm the changes in the grid by viewing the changed columns
10.) If everything looks correct, then you can proceed to Provision, then Migrate
