Do Site tabs and the associated SharePoint site migrate during Teams migration?

When migrating Teams the Site tab and the site(s) associated with Site tabs do not migrate.  

The Site tab as well as the SharePoint site(s) associated with those tabs are not migrated during a Teams migration. 

The following process will migrate the SharePoint site and allow the tab to be added manually to the target Team(s) and point to the target site(s). 

 

• Migrate the SharePoint sites associated with the site tabs first using the On Demand Migration SharePoint module
• Migrate the Team after confirming the SharePoint migration was successful
• Access the target team and add the Site tab and point to the target SharePoint team

Error Example: Link to tab 'Site' in the migrated message cannot be opened: target tab not found.
