Data has been backed up ok, no errors in the backup job, but when attempting to build a restore job an error message pops up and says the index is corrupt.
This issue has been reported as a symptom of having NetVault version 8.6.1 on the client with 8.5.3 on the server. This is not a supported combination. The NetVault Server version must be equivalent or higher than the most up to date client.
Ensure that the NetVault Server version is at least the same as the client that is failing and upgrade the server if necessary. The index will need to be re-read from the tape by scanning the tape. It may be necessary to offline the index or retire the backup before scanning the tape depending on the level of corruption.
