Description: Can I use the Encryption plugin, if I am doing a Raw Device backup?
Symptoms: Backup will run, when using the encryption plugin, but will not be able to restore it. -
Resolution
The Encryption plugin is Not Compatible - Not Supported with the use of the following plugins:
Consolidate Incremental Backups Plugin
NetVault: Backup NDMP Plugin
NetVault: Backup SnapMirror To Tape Plugin
NetVault: Backup APM for Informix
NetVault: Backup Netware Thin Client Plugin - If encryption is enabled, the saveset header will report the backup as encrypted and ask for the key during restore. However, the saveset is not actually cipher-text, just clear-text.
