Netvault Backup of SQL transaction (and/or database) backup completes but the disk space used by transaction logs has not decreased.
1) Netvault Backup does not truncate logs. MS SQL is responsible for this task.
2) By default 'physical' truncation (deleting backed up logs) is disabled, set to FALSE in MS SQL. This mean that used space will not be reduced
3) Instead the logs are 'logically' truncated. This means that a backed up log is marked as inactive, and re-used later on.
4) It is possible to reclaim the space use by transaction logs.
A physical truncation will need to occur for this to happen. This is achieved by manually running the DBCC SHRINKDATABASE or DBCC SHRINKFILE within the MSSQLserver application
