How can we add this library to our NetVault backup instance, fiber to a fiber switch??
You may add it via NetVault through the NetVault Console (GUI)... click on Device Management, once in Device Management you wil click on "Add", then choose "Add a Library"... double click the Server that you have the Library set to (Zoned)... you should then see (if zone correctly) the Library under the server. You would next "double click" the Library.... once you've done that, it will populate a picture on your right hand side, once it has the picture, you will then click on the "Drive Selection" tab. Once in that tab, you'll double click the Server once again... you'll then see the Tape Drive or Drives being reported to us.... on your right from that you'll see "Drive Bay" 1 of ? (1 of 1, or 1of 2, etc... depending on how many you have).
You'll double click the 1 drive at the top and it will populate a picture for the drive... and that will then be configured for Drive Bay 1.... if you for example have 2 or more drives... you'll click on the up arrow (right hand side) to change it to Drive Bay 2 of 2... so that you can now double click on drive two and populate a picture for it now. If you have 3 tape drives, you click the up arrow again and it should then show as Drive Bay 3 of 3... and so on.
If by chance your library or all drives do not show up correctly or at all... then either (depending on OS)... you have removeable storage enabled/running, another software has control over it or there is a zoning issue, that will need to be resolve (and outside of NetVault)... that will need to be corrected prior to use seeing everything correctly, as we depend on the OS, SCSI BUS...etc, to tell us what is available to us, for use.
