The internal error message could mean many things so one must closely at all aspects of the faults.
- Login to the machine where the vm plugin is installed
- Open a command line
- sc delete vstor2-mntapi10-shared
- Delete the vmware plugin using Netvault Client Management or the Netvault Configurator. Delete all the vmware config files from netvault\config directory.
-Reboot the machine where the plugin is installed.
-Re-install et reconfigure the VMware plugin
-Try creating a file level backup - attempt mounting a VM. That should work now.
