While it is not possible to copy a report job as a whole between NetVault Backup servers, it is possible to copy the customized components from one server to another. Then the report job can easily be recreated.
1. Edit the report job. You can see that the job consists of one or more components.
See [JobEditComps.JPG]
2. If the custom report was created by adding default components, they already exist on the other server and you can skip to step 4. If the components have been customized, you can transfer the template file which contains the component settings to another NetVault Backup server. To avoid confusion and potential problems, when you customize an existing report component you should save it with a different name. This will cause NetVault Backup to create a separate template file based upon the report name with a number appended to it.
See [TemplateFiles.JPG]
3. The template file will be located on the NetVault Backup server in the %NV_HOME%\reports\templates folder. You can then transfer this file to another NetVault Backup server. If you open the file with wordpad, you can find the class and nicename.
%CLASS "Job History"
%INCLUDE "%startsystime > 'NOW-16HO' AND %Type = 'Backup'"
%CONDITIONHITS "0"
%FORMAT "<TR><TD>%TRANSFERSIZE</TD></TR>"
%HEADERNAME "SummaryTableHeader"
%NICENAME "Count of Data Stored In Overnight Jobs - Custom"
%OUTPUTTYPE 1
4. Create a new report using the copied component. The copied component can be found in a folder with the name of the class and the component will be listed with its nicename.
