For all BakBone Software customers who have installed or upgraded to NetVault: Backup Version 8.0.x, we would like to take this opportunity to inform you of an important note regarding the use of Network Compression during your backup jobs
Problem description of the issue:
Using Network Compression will cause all backup jobs to fail with a Channel error. Selecting the channel error from the log will reveal the following Error message:
NET :5520 71 10053 175835 Fatal error during TCP receive: Connection aborted due to timeout or other failure
Resolution: Deselect Network Compression on the Advanced Options tab of your backup jobs.
You can be assured that our development team is actively working on a fix for this issue. BakBone strongly recommends that users pay full attention to the system and NetVault logs that are generated and check the integrity of the data with regular restores.
