Title
Quantum PX502 does not show all slots in device management, and instead shows lots of ports -
Description
NetVault only shows a handful of slots, but lots of ports in device management. When using a Quantum PX502 library, moves and unloads failed with "Lost move destination from internal tree" et al.

Cause
The Quantum PX502 can be configured so that it not only reports tape SLOTS, but also a certain amount of tape PORTS that can be used in partitions. If these are configured, NetVault will run out of slots to unload tapes into, as there will be more tapes loaded than there are slots (some slots will be ports instead and can't be used).

Resolution
Reconfigure the library - remove any partitions you might have configured (Web interface -> Setup -> Partitions) so that the library will reconfigure the default partition during the next reboot. On Setup -> Library, also make sure that the "Load Ports" for "Cabinet 1" are set to "None" for Left and Right, instead of "Column" or "Magazine".
Then remove the library in NetVault and reboot it. Once online again, NetVault should see 38 slots for the library and no ports at all. -
