Even though a BMR Live Client for Linux backup job completes successfully, a partition(s) might not be backed up if the following condition are met.
Condition:
- Very low disk space usage partition (for example, a separate partition for /home with only data of 1 new user during the initialization phase.)
- Low bandwidth between NetVault server and client, such as over WAN.
How to check for the issue: (Assuming the issue occurs on /home)
*An example on the following configuration
# df -H
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/mapper/rhel-root 49G 3.8G 45G 8% /
/dev/sda1 1.1G 187M 877M 18% /boot
/dev/mapper/rhel-home 24G 39M 24G 1% /home
# du -sk /home
4612 /home
Method1: Check the restore selection screen
(WebUI | Create Restore Job | Select the saveset in question | Next)
[In case of backup taken]
[In case of partition not backed up]
Method2: Check backup log (Review the “Successfully backup segment” messages)
(WEbUI | Job Status | Select the job in question | View Logs | Display Level: All)
[In case of backup taken]
Successfully backup segment: TOC
Successfully backup segment: rhel~root
Successfully backup segment: sda1
Successfully backup segment: rhel~home
[In case of partition not backed up]
Successfully backup segment: TOC
Successfully backup segment: rhel~root
Successfully backup segment: sda1
The issue occurs on all supported versions of BMR Live Client for Linux 11.4 and prior.
* Supported versions are 4.2.5, 10.0.0, 10.5, 11.0, 11.1, 11.2, 11.4 and 12.0. (As of 2019/1/18)
